Forums in general exist online like a compliment to a web. Inviting users to argue or share information relevant to the to the topic of the site. In a free discussion or informal by which they form a community in common interest. The discussions are usually monitored by a coordinator who usually introduces the theme, asks the first question, stimulates and guides, ask for funds, explains and synthesizes all the exposed before closing.

Compared to the wikis you can’t modify the information of other members unless they have a special consent like an administrator. On the other side in comparison to weblogs the difference is that the forums allow a big number of users and the discussions are nested, something similar to the comments in the weblogs

In general, the forums are usually diverse or ample themes. With a quantity of content that is varied and the possibility to personalize a leveled user.

While the first reference of chats really took place in the decade of 1960. While the internet wasn’t developed there was a program that existed to chat un real time. It allowed users who were authorized that were connected to the same computer to chat with each other. The messages were only allowed to be sent to two users at a time. But the users of the computers had to know what the email of the team is in order to send the message. Internet Relay Chat was created in 1988 by Jarkko “WiZ” Oikarinen. The design of the first server of chat while working in the university of Oulu, Finland in the department of science of information processing.

The name of the first chat server was tolson.oulu.if. Jarkko started to contact his friends to create servers too. Other university’s also started to soon create their own servers. Jarkko immediately contacted Denver and Oregon University so they could connect themselves to the server to make the first network. Once the network was connected others started to create their own. Which lead to 40 servers in the whole world in 1989.

The use of chat and forums has been converted to a significant portion of the use of the internet every day. This was technology. Many companies use it as a form of communication with their employees in big offices. Students use it in computer labs in the university to check with other work. Any also many table employees use it for help when chatting because it’s available in most web pages. Without chatting the lines of communication wouldn’t be as open as they are now. It allows people to communicate with other people around the world. For some people it’s cheaper than using your carrier.
